Eleanor Foundation Announces New Board Officers

(23 Feb 2009) – The Eleanor Foundation has elected new officers to its Board of Directors. The Foundation's board is now led by Scott C. Swanson, President of Charter One Bank, Illinois. Stephen V. King, a Principal and Co-Founder of Prairie Capital and the Board's immediate Past-Chair, will continue to serve on the Foundation's board.

"I strongly believe that helping more working women achieve self-sufficiency is vital to creating lasting impact in our communities and families," said Swanson. "I am honored to continue working with my Eleanor Foundation colleagues to take this important work to the next level."

Swanson is joined by Vice Chair Nicholas J. Brunick, an attorney at Applegate and Thorne-Thomsen, P.C.; Secretary Courtney M. Cavatoni, a managing director at JP Morgan Private Bank; and Treasurer Scott E. Pickens, a partner and Chair of the Finance Group at Schiff Hardin LLP.

"This leadership team reflects the deep talent and commitment that our entire Board brings to the cause of helping more working women attain lasting economic security," said Rosanna Márquez, the Eleanor Foundation's President and CEO. "Their guidance is essential to the Foundation's realizing its vision of building a sustainable network of services that strengthen the economic future of Chicago's women and children."

Also, Jennifer W. Steans, President of Financial Investments Corp., was re-elected to a new three-year term on the Foundation's 12-member Board of Directors, as were Swanson and Pickens.
